Obadiah's is a small family run business located in Northwestern Montana. Born and raised in Michigan, and after 20 years in the construction business, we moved out west to fulfill a lifelong dream of ours. We operate our business from northwestern Montana, situated on a beautiful river, overlooking a small valley. This is a place most people only dream of. We live among a unique group of people. Most are God fearing, free spirited, independent, liberty loving, folks. Our home is completely off grid aside from our phone system. We have sought to live as independent as possible. We try to give back to nature what we take. Eventually we would like to build a greenhouse, in which to grow fresh vegetables, year round. This has been a dream come true for us, we feel truly blessed to be able to live here and make our living this way.
We use the sun to generate our electricity via our solar panels, our home
and hot water is heated with wood, also a renewable resource. There are many
fallen trees on the ground nearby, from which we gather our firewood. Our
home is our lab. We live what we sell. We don't claim to be experts in all
forms of alternative energy and housing, but we do have a passion to learn
and help others learn. We love what we do and we look forward to the future
friendships that will develop as a result of this business. We are more than
happy to share our knowledge with you, so you wont have to repeat the mistakes
we've made. You too can live this way, today's technology makes it so much
easier. Modern electronic inverters, more efficient solar panels, and better
batteries make it possible. Satellite systems allow us to watch what is going
on in the world, along with high speed broadband internet connections, with
which to connect to the World Wide Web. Although we live in the boonies, we
have most of the modern comforts that city folk do, without many of the hassles.
We definately don't miss the traffic; up here we joke that you could pitch
a tent in the middle of the road without much fear of getting run over.
Our business philosophy is very simple; treat others the way you want to be
treated. We try to keep things as simple as possible. We hope to be worthy
of what is given us, most valuable is trust. If we fall short and we know
we will because, after all, we are only human, please give us the chance to
make it right. Tell us, not your friends. If we meet your expectations tell
your friends, we rely on you to help us grow.
